I know, it's only Rock & Roll; but I like it! It's been a lot of years since I had a hangover. I remember now... I asked Dave if it was "Elk-foot;" he said "NO, it's "Big-horn"...makes sense to me... I wanted to see Mary and hear "Neon Moon"...oh well... My hat's off to the bass-player (with the long hair and the red guitar)... Bill is certainly one of the best that I've ever heard. The lead dual with Dave was Fantastic... Garce was excellent too (as usual)... I live in Roseburg now. If you guys ever need a place to crash for the night, just holler... I can't get "Station Man" out of my head.

Bobby thanks again. The sincerity in your
voice plus the gentle guitar picking really made the "Donations of Love" song
warm and fuzzy. It's what it is, and I think this will move folks to understand the problem that exists for these kids.
So listen up at KTEE and KSHR the 10th thru the 24th. It will be aired and more than likely move folks to action!!!

A Second Chance

April 5, 2008

One week ago today I received the ultimate gift and blessing of a healthy donor liver and have been home since Wednesday which my doctors tell me is the all time record in the history of the OHSU hospital.

To Bobby, Crawdaddy all of the people on this site who kept me in their thoughts, prayers and spirit I extend sincere thanks and gratitude for the incredible love, support and healing energy you sent my way throughout this long bout with liver disease and cancer.

It has all been such and incredibly profound and humbling experience and I intend to write a full accounting of it all and post it to a blog so that others facing the same fears trepidations and concerns as I did going in may have an easier time facing this kind of challenge. I also hope that others may be inspired to get on the donor list and share the gift of health, life and a second chance with others. It is an incredible gift.

I have to tell you having been sick for so long and getting so used to feeling tired, confused, ill and unhealthy that it was easy to accept my damaged and diseased condition as normal. I simply could not fathom life or reality any other way and even though the possibility of liver transplant existed I almost turned it down because of fear of the unknown, and the challenges of learning how to live differently with a major part of my body replaced with someone else’s.

Receiving a new liver which instantly restored my health and critical bodily functions was like plugging into a great light socket and flipping on the switch sending thousands of volts of energy through my body restoring things as they are supposed to be for the first time all over again.

I awoke from surgery to an astonishing and entirely different healthy reality free to begin a new life. I know I have a lot of work and healing to do, but I am so glad I did it. I know I made the right choice and I feel better today than I have felt in 30 years, the transplant was an incredible success.

This has been my all time most profound experience in life.

Much love and thanks to all of you, I will stay in touch

Hope Y'all are doing well. Winter in Texas this year has been great. No complaints. Sounds like the bay area is doing well. I will fly up there soon. It has been a long time for me. I miss North Bend so much, especially spending time with my Mom.
Keep on doing what you are doing and hope to see you soon. BTW, I had a trip to Montreal the other day, it was 14 below, WHOA BABY, that is cold. The Captain and first officer and my myself had to walk in that crap for 4 blocks before we found a restaurant. Whoa Buddy, not cool. My face was frozen. Then, the next day, I flew to Monterrey, Mexico, hotter than heck, go figure, right??
BTW, Bret says "HI", he is at the UT basketball game right now, will be here shortly.

January 20, 2008

Talk about cool!
I attended the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors in Austin Texas this weekend. Garse heaven!!! Got to meet some of my horror movie heroes and see some upcoming splatter films for 2008. Sat in the audience for a reunion of Friday the 13th movie stars including the man behind the Jason Vorhees mask - Kane Hodder. Watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 with the original cast in the audience, including make-up effects wiz Tom Savini - Sweetness!!! I am a proud owner of a signed t-shirt by Savini and Jason Vorhees (Kane Hodder). An entire ballroom full of horror movie memorabilia, t-shirts, movies, toys and gadgets with plenty of splatter movie stars to shake hands with. Shook hands with Richard Keil - Jaws from the James Bond movies...In all it was the geekiest geekishness of all geekdom and the garse was indeed in heaven.

Happy New Year For Your Texas Fans. Everybody wants to here some more music from the group. In the near future for 2008 would like to plan a DVD release party at The Garse's Apartment. The price $20 for the Dvd(byob), contains video footage of the group Bobby Lindstrom Band playing in Texas. Bobby Lindstrom, Lead Guitar; David Cooper, Bass Guitar; and Mike Carrillo, aka "The Garse," Drums.
Proceeds goto the funds of trying to get the bass player and the guitar player back down here in Austin. Details to come as the plans come together so stayed tuned.
